Wood and panels
Plywood, MDF, and chipboard for cabinets and furniture. Grain stays the way you set it, edge banding is counted on every edge, and the layouts cut on a panel saw.
Enter the parts and the sheet, see the layout, and take a printed plan to the shop floor.
CutGrid is an online cutlist optimizer. It nests parts on sheets and cuts bars to length, with the settings each material needs.
Plywood, MDF, and chipboard for cabinets and furniture. Grain stays the way you set it, edge banding is counted on every edge, and the layouts cut on a panel saw.
Sheet metal nests like any board. Aluminium and steel profiles, tube, and flat bar are cut to length with the blade and end trim included, and the leftover length goes back to stock.
Straight-cut layouts for glass and mirror sheets. Set the cutting gap your cutter takes, and keep usable offcuts in stock for the next job.
Parts, the nested sheet, then the plan you print.
| Part | Width | Height | Qty |
|---|---|---|---|
| Door | 600 | 1200 | 2 |
| Shelf | 400 | 600 | 3 |
| Side | 300 | 400 | 2 |
Enter dimensions and quantities for the parts you need to cut. You can also import from CSV or Excel.
The nesting algorithm places parts on the sheet in seconds, including kerf and trim.

Cut plan
Export a PDF cut diagram for the shop. Pro adds printable QR labels. Expert adds DXF for CNC.
Cut bars, pipes, and profiles to length. Kerf and end trim are included; leftover stock shows on the plan.
2200 × 2 · 1400 × 3 · 800 × 2
Work in millimetres, centimetres, inches, or feet. Inches accept fractions such as 12 3/8 and 12-3/8.
Keep standard sheets and leftover offcuts in one list. Use leftovers on the next job.
Parts in, cut plan out. The rest is optional.
Start from a kitchen cabinet, bookshelf, or door set. The sizes load in, then adjust them to your job.
| 600 | 1200 | 2 |
| 400 | 600 | 3 |
| 300 | 400 | 2 |
Import a parts list from Excel or CSV instead of typing every size.
Save frequently used parts and quickly add them to new projects. Build your custom component library.
Set the grain per part for wood. Parts with a grain direction are never rotated, so the pattern runs the right way.
Automatic edge banding calculations for all four sides. Get accurate material requirements instantly.
Enter the price of each sheet and see what the waste costs you, in your own currency.
Print a cut diagram for the shop. Add part labels when you need them on the pieces.
Send the layout to CNC or CAD as DXF (Expert plan).
Save projects and reopen the last layout. How many you can keep depends on your plan (3 on Free).
The tools a workshop uses once the layout is done.
Open the plan on a tablet in the shop and tap each part as it comes off the saw. The next one is outlined, so you always know what is left to cut.
Add labor per sheet or per cut, edge band, and your markup to the material cost. The total shows with the results and on the PDF.
Send the plan to a customer or a colleague. They open the latest saved version without an account.
Drag a part where you want it and lock it there. The other parts are packed around it.
Change a setting, optimize again, and see the new layout next to the last one.
Export the parts and boards as a PTX file (Cut Rite format) for panel saws that read it. Starter and up.
Start for free, upgrade as you grow.
Perfect to try and for small DIY projects.
For hobbyists and beginners.
For woodworking shops and serious makers.
For CNC users and production workshops.

A cut list optimizer works out how to cut rectangular parts from stock sheets or bars with as little waste as possible. CutGrid is an online cut list optimizer: you enter the parts and the sheet sizes, and it lays them out for you.
Sizes, kerf, and trim are applied exactly, and parts never overlap. The layout itself comes from fast placement rules, not an exhaustive search: you get a very good plan in seconds, but not a guarantee of the mathematically best one. Try the other placement strategy or switch rotation on and off, and keep the layout that wastes least. You see the waste before you cut.
Yes. Every plan can export PDF cut diagrams (Free PDFs include a watermark). Excel export starts on Starter. DXF for CAD/CNC is Expert.
Yes. You set the kerf once for the whole project, and CutGrid leaves that gap between every part. A list that fits with no kerf can need another sheet.
Yes. CutGrid supports metric (mm, cm) and imperial (inch, ft). You can switch units and values convert automatically. Inches accept fractions such as 12 3/8 and 12-3/8.
The Free plan supports up to 25 parts per project. Paid plans raise those limits (up to 2000 parts on Expert). QR labels are Pro; DXF export is Expert.
Start optimizing your cuts in minutes — no credit card required. See the difference on your very first cut.
